Liche – Le Parfum Âcre de la Folie – single (Chronique)

From the very first blast, it’s clear that Liche isn’t here to pull any punches. Le Parfum Âcre de la Folie is a track of such overwhelming violence that it feels like it tears open the fabric of space-time, as if each note threatened to swallow a fragment of the Milky Way. Everything here is fast, sharp, brutal, yet undeniably modern in its sonic treatment.

The duo behind Liche manages to impose an intensity rarely achieved, with a mastery that commands respect. The vocals, a true weapon of demolition, are not merely screamed—they lacerate, they pierce, they coil around the music like a venomous serpent. There is a destructive breath at work, but also a carefully thought-out artistic direction, never gratuitous.

The lyrics dive headfirst into a sickly and devastated universe, where every image evokes putrefaction, perverted sacredness, and sublimated pain. It’s a text heavy with symbolism, oscillating between flesh, nothingness, and a kind of almost mystical ritual. A shadow of a ravaged world lingers, a rancid perfume that clings to the skin and imprints on the mind.

Le Parfum Âcre de la Folie heralds the upcoming album FEBRIS, which promises to delve even deeper into this diseased and apocalyptic aesthetic. If this first single serves as the gateway, one can expect a record as corrosive as it is hypnotic, capable of combining extreme brutality with an immersive atmosphere.

With just one track, Liche establishes a strong identity—both contemporary and uncompromising. This isn’t just a song, it’s a sensory experience where violence becomes a language, and madness is inhaled, acrid and intoxicating.

Follow Liche on their social networks and Bandcamp to stay up to date. Alongside Le Parfum Âcre de la Folie, you can also listen to the single Le Sacre Noir and the album La Mort en Son Jardin, both of which I strongly recommend exploring.
