May the northern winds carry these words through the mists and the ancient forests, for the hour has come to tell of the return of Bärnserker, that solitary warrior from the Helvetic realm, raising his third sonic artifact, III. Forged by winds and ages alike, as a stone bearing the memory of the ancients, this opus advances, proud and sincere, carried by the breath of the old gods and the hand of a single man, Chris Bärnserker.
III is no worthless artifact, but a testimony of soul and flame. Each piece stands as a cairn upon the path of time, a marker for the lost spirit, an offering to forgotten powers. The guitars rise like blazing runes, the drums resound like the heartbeat of a giant, and the voice bursts forth as a cry from the bowels of the world. Where others sink into pagan caricature, Bärnserker remains rooted in the sincerity of soil, frost, and lived experience.
All here is the work of a single craftsman. Behind every note, one feels the solitude of he who speaks to the wind. It is no polished nor artificial production, but a metal beaten by hand, rough and inhabited, bearing the mark of the blacksmith. Listening to III evokes a campfire raised in the night, the wood cracks, the flame dances, and one listens in silence.
I know not Chris Bärnserker personally, yet we are companions upon the digital roads, and it has ever seemed to me that behind the artist dwells a true, humble, and sincere man. It warms the heart all the more to support the work of one who breathes kindness and passion. By a chronicler’s faith, if the gods allow, I would have no trouble sharing with him a fine jug of mead, to the sound of a lute, somewhere between two tempests.
III is an album of balance, keeping the nobility of ancient black metal while daring a modern clarity without betraying its spirit. Those who seek sincerity rather than showmanship shall find within it a rare warmth, a work of soul, of fire, and of truth.
